Civilian Conservation Corps

As part of the New Deal Program, to help lift the United States out of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt established the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933. From 1933 to 1943, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps provided employment and vocational training to numerous young men in various parts of the country. A camp of 200+ young men aged 18-25 was located near this spot. They build dams and helped out at local farms.
